Ghostwood Strand
Coastal forest on the western shore, where salt spray has killed the outer rank of trees and left them standing bleached and bare in front of the living wood. From a ship the shoreline appears to be lined with pale poles. Sailors have used them as a landmark for two centuries without ever wanting to land.
