The Valdrin Codex A record of what we agreed to remember

The Last Peak

The Last Peak rises in supreme isolation from a vast savannah to the west and dry plains to the east. It is the northernmost and tallest summit in a long, north-south mountain range that dwindles to low hills behind it. It is not the end of a line, but the king of a diminished realm. To caravans approaching from the empty north, it is the first true mountain they have seen in weeks. To the tribes of the southern savannah, it marks the last significant height before their flat, endless grasslands begin. For both, it is a singular landmark of transition, earning its ironic name from all who behold it.

What the map shows
