Stone's Back

Wooded upland ridge between the plains and the central mountains, the trees thinning to open grass at its western end. The ridge is a single long spine of rock under the soil, and where it surfaces the wood cannot grow. Those bare stretches show from the steppe as a pale line along the skyline.
