Tor
Dry plain broken along its northern half by low ridges of dark stone that rise out of the sand like the spine of something buried. The gullies between them hold shade until midday and dust until evening. Caravans crossing the drylands bend their route to follow the ridge line, because a ridge can be navigated and open sand cannot.
